The sixth annual music issue of the Oxford American just hit the newsstands. Marshall's "Leaving Loachapoka" is included on the compilation CD which also featues Esther Phillips, Willie Nelson, Swamp Dogg, the Blind Boys of Alabama, R.L. Burnside, King Pleasure, Little Milton, the Del McCoury Band, and Marilyn Monroe(!) Geoffrey Himes paints a wonderful portrait of the tall one in his article "A Southern Belle Raisin' Hell"

Love Slave Reunion! July 19, 2003
Marshall & the Love Slaves will play the
 Belgium Rhythm & Blues Festival.
Band line-up: Jackie Street–bass, Lynn Williams–drums,
Tim Krekel & Danny Flowers–lead guitars.
There will be two warm-up shows at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville July 15 & 16. These shows will have historical significance. Marshall and band will be the first act to play the Bluebird two nights in a row!

Now you can hear Marshall from her big bad rockin' Epic days on CD.
 Sony Ladies Vol. 6 includes "Why Can't I Be Like Other Girls?" from her 1979 Epic album. How this track ended up on a country compilation album, sandwiched between Dolly Parton and Connie Smith, is beyond our comprehension and a surreal listening experience. Check it out!
